‘Tis the season for bone broth!
Bone broth is literally like the nectar of the gods! It is so delicious, so healthy, and SO easy to make. I purchased an organic rotisserie chicken yesterday – to use on salads for lunch this week and also to start my 9 month old on finger foods. (Side note, HOW ON EARTH IS HE ALREADY OLD ENOUGH FOR THIS?).
Anyway, I was about to throw out the bones when it hit me – I hadn’t made bone broth in awhile, and we all love it. We drink a cup of it in the morning or use it for tortilla soup. You automatically feel healthier after drinking it 🙂
Easy Bone Broth Recipe
Carcass of chicken or turkey or other meat bones (organic is best!)
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar or lemon juice
3-4 celery stalks
Salt and Peppercorns
parsley and other herbs
This is awesome to start after Thanksgiving…throw all the left over bones into a pot, and any vegetables not used. Simmer all night and you have a delicious and healthy broth the next day.
